I'm not sure what the magic number is, but there's always that point where SO many things have gone wrong that it stops being upsetting and starts to be a little funny. And the only thing you think at that point is "Of course! Of course THIS happened!" :) The last (12 hour) trip we took, we took 2 cars and I kept the kids in seperate cars nearly the whole way BOTH ways.
